I’m very pleased to report again that the Shell Contributory Pension Fund (SCPF or the Fund) is in good health.
We completed the three yearly actuarial valuation in July and can report a fully funded scheme with a lower-risk investment portfolio than at our 2020 valuation. This means we’ve further enhanced the security of your pensions, in line with our long-term strategy. You can find more details on pages 4 to 7.
This is my last report as Chair of the Trustee Board as I’m stepping down at the end of this month after ten years on the Board and six as Chair. It has been a privilege to serve in this role. Over that time the SCPF has paid around £4 billion in benefits to our members and is well set up to meet all its future liabilities. This is thanks to the efforts of the dedicated Trustee Services Unit team and our advisers, the members who have served as Trustee Directors and the consistent support of the Company over many years. Not forgetting, of course, the contributions from members and employing companies which have built up the Fund.
